Tracking TikTok KPIs

Now that all the analytics are out on the table, what’s their significance and how can you use the data to improve?

Top 3 Underrated TikTok KPIs

First, it’s very important to recognize if you’re both reaching and attracting your target demographic audience. To track down who’s actually consuming your video content, you will want to take a peek under the “Followers” tab in Analytics. Here you can check the gender of your audience and where they’re watching your videos from. Tweak your next videos accordingly to adjust to who you’re actually trying to appeal to, as opposed to the masses. Here’s an inside look through the TikTok app itself:

Next, you will want to take a look at your trending videos under the “Content” tab in Analytics. This is where you really need to hunker down to analyze your own work and see you’re doing right… and wrong. Was it the trending hashtag? The extra emoji you put in the description for shits and gigs? etc.

TikTok Trending Videos Analytics

You will want to click the “More” icon/the three horizontal dots (…) to see the full video details. Click on the lower-left icon for analytics:

TikTok "Share to" 1 of 2

Here you can see what videos are frequently being shared the most. Sharing is caring, so certainly recreating some of the same magic from your previous videos and putting it into your upcoming ones will have better results. We’ve also noticed comments and duets may either need to be monitored or turned off, consequently, because there’s still a lot of spam out and about.

TikTok Analytics for Video Shares

Lastly, you will want to look at how people are reacting to your video. Are they watching it all the way through, or better yet, rewatching it? If you have a 10-second video and the “Average Watch Time” is 15 seconds, you know people are interested enough to watch the video all the way through. On the contrary, if the video length was 30 seconds and the average watch time was 15 seconds, you could assume the video’s content was uninteresting and people swiped on by.
